Buying and installing Minecraft Edu
I am working as a teacher in an alternative school setting in the non-profit sector. We are currently online only because of Covid and I have 5 or 6 students who are very interested in collaborating and completing challenges in Minecraft. I am trying to figure out if our team pays the 12usd per student to get the license for them to play then will they be able to play without having to pay for anything else on their ends? Do they need the Microsoft 365 account as well or is it just our organization (we have it). Is there any sort of hiccups I should anticipate encountering? I am in over my head with this and I am aware that this might be common sense to some but I've been struggling to get this sorted for a week and I can't get past the 365 thing and I worry that if we buy the licenses the students still wont be able to get on. We don't have a lot of money to spend and using it on something that wont work would be wasteful but I know that if I can figure it out this will be quite valuable for them! please send help I'm old and not hip.

Thanks for reaching out. You will be able to tell if you are eligible if you go through the link to office 365. At this time an Office 365 Education account is required to login and play or purchase Minecraft: Education Edition. Its free for qualifying academic organizations. You can learn more here: https://products.office.com/en-us/student/office-in-education
A valid Office 365 Education teacher account gets 25 trial logins, and a student account gets 10. Just use your credentials to login. If you do not qualify, the commercial license is also an option: https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360061369812
Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
