Update Notification
I really wish I had gotten an E-mail before this update was forced onto my computer. How did an update mess up my class? I have spent the last several weeks getting all my 2nd graders into MEE from home. They are not tech savvy, nor are most of their parents. It took a LOT. Before that, I had to fight just to be allowed to download and pilot it. I had an observation planned for admin to come see how awesome MEE could be for our whole online-teaching situation. Instead, an update got pushed to my computer this morning, the morning of the observation. My students' devices hadn't updated, so they couldn't join the game. Now it looks like another reason they shouldn't let me use it. Weeks of planning, out the window overnight. So bummed and disheartened. If I could have just been warned. If I had just known one day in advance.

Hello Adrian Frazier,
Thanks so much for reaching out. So sorry to hear about the issues. We do have an in-game alert that goes out to teachers warning them about the update. We can take this as a point of action to communicate more extensively in the future.
Updating itself is pretty straight forward. Here are some directions on updating for each platform: https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047705032-FAQ-Update-to-a-New-Version-of-Minecraft-Education-Edition
Please create a request with us if any issues come up. Thanks!
