Code not running
I am having my students run their codes but for some reason after hitting the play button it turns red and the code does not run. (We are on the latest update. I have tried using a student account at home with my laptop and it works perfectly fine but it does not work with the chromebooks at school)

Hey there,
Are you able to test at home with one of the Chromebooks that does not work on the school network?
What OS version are the Chromebooks on?
What device and OS version did you use at home that it did work with?

Danny it is on Version 112.0.5615.134. The laptop I tried it with at home was a Macbook

Hi, KK. This problem is generally not a device problem, in my experience.
Have you tried another world on the same computer? I have (sadly) found this problem to pop up in a world once in a while.

Debbie Alexander Yes unfortunately it is not running in any of the worlds

Hi, I have the same issue, after the last update on the Chromebooks when you press the run button to execute the code it just freezes and don't execute. I tried with the old version and we don't have that issue. Can you update on it or let us know how to run the previous version? Thanks!

Hey there,
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues when running code.
The team recommends updating computer specs to solve this issue.
Alternatively you could try turning off fancy bubbles/graphics/leaves/skies/clouds/smooth lighting to see if that helps the issue.

What do you mean updating computer specs? You mean changing the hardware to another device? That's unfeasible.
What about the option to remove those other options, can you detail them? Thanks!

To toggle off the video settings mentioned above, first open the Minecraft Education app. Then click the settings tab. From there scroll down towards the middle of the panel and select the video tab. In there you will see settings that are "fancy" and "beautiful" along with render block distance at the very bottom.

Hi, it doesn't work with your suggestions. I also tried in a Galaxy Tab A6 and it's not running. For whatever reason this new update requires more hardware power, are you going to update it or change system requirements?

We have updated our system requirements at this time. If after reviewing and you notice that the requirements should be higher, let me know what exact hardware changes you are seeing, and I will let the Devs know.
