I am sorry for this but mods, texture packs, and most resource packs are not supported by Minecraft Education. If this worked on the live version, please uninstall the Beta and redownload the live version.

All my other addons have worked forever. I figured out that it only does it when any experimental features are on.

It can be disappointing, but what inevitably happens is that updates and upgrades are written, and change the internal features of Minecraft - the engine, if you will, inside of Minecraft. The folks who work to test after these changes are made try to make sure everything is happy and smooth on the outside after these changes. Mods make use of stuff in this internal "engine" - but when the engine changes, what the mod wanted may not be taken into account, and the mod may "break" with these updates.

I'm trying to mix the technical with the reality, and it may sound kind of convoluted, but I hope it helps you understand a bit better. Mods just aren't supported.
