Server lock

My teacher made a server for us but when people started joining a message came "The server is not available." can you help?

  We have had some service issues lately, is this issue still occurring? Could you clarify if this is the Minecraft Education Edition? Can you post a screenshot of the error to help me troubleshoot this?
