Shared License
I work for a university that provides supplementary STEAM programming for local schools, and we were hoping to run some programs using Minecraft.
I just wanted to confirm if the Minecraft Education Edition licensing terms allow for this sort of 'shared' usage. Our specific use case would be that we have a classroom worth of computers and university email/365 accounts. Students would have access for the duration of the program (1-5 days), and then the credentials would be changed.

Hi Trevor-
As long as there is a license associated with each individual student account, this is completely acceptable. You can transfer the licenses to different accounts between sessions. Take a look at our licensing management document, and let us know if you have other questions! License Management for Minecraft: Education Edition – Minecraft: Education Edition Support

Thank you!
Just to make sure I am not misunderstanding, could you clarify what you mean by "each individual student account"? Do you mean that each device/account pair needs a license, or that each student that uses one of our devices needs their own license?0 -
Hello Trevor Doto and apologies for the late reply! Each license can be assigned to an O365 account, which will allow that account to login to Minecraft: Education Edition. The licenses aren't attached to devices, so a student could log into that account on various devices.
In the camp model, if you then have a new group of students coming into the class, you can create new accounts for these students (or use their existing accounts if they already have them through the university). You can deprovision the licenses from the previous student accounts and then assign them to the new student's accounts.
