The client version is the main thing to keep an eye on. Both sets of computers will need to be on the same client version to play together. Let me know if this helps. Please work with your IT department to have them all running the same version.

Thankyou for the reply, but I have a feeling that you did not read the post. I do know that the versions need to match ( that's the reason for the post ), I am the IT department and we uses IOS ( Apple iPads) and PC devices. The question was in relation to the availability of the Store version as opposed to the IOS version. Updates were made to IOS at the time but there were none available via either the MS store or the MEE download page for the PC version. This produced constant errors when clients ( students on IOS) could no longer connect to the host (Teachers on PC). The main question was in relation to what can we do to work around  this issue if MS does not release an update across all platform simultaneously?

    Hi Peter Spethman

A link has been placed in the IT admin Guide under How Do I install Minecraft here. This will provide you with the most recent package (1.17) for deployment with SCCM.

I find in practice that PC and Chrome seem to update to the most recently release versions and updates on their own for the most part, so the package is more for when we re-image or deploy new systems. Macs and iPads must be manually updated (we manage our iPads through InTune so we can push out the update fairly easily).
