So Much Trouble Assigning User

Hi, I've spent hours trying to assign my Minecraft Education licenses to my students. I've made three calls to the help center and am still stuck. I've managed to purchase three licenses but when I try to assign them to students I get stuck. I guess you have to add them to something called an Azure Active Directory first, which I guess I did but I don't the password they are suppose to use to sign in to their Minecraft account. I'm also confused about whether I need to give them a school email or if they can use like their own gmail or hotmail or whatever. We are trying to make this smooth for 4th and 5th graders and in the tests we have run it has been very complicated. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Thanks for posting in the forum! Sorry to hear you're having difficulty. To answer your questions briefly: each license needs to be assigned to an O365 user on the same tenant. They can use their current school email for O365 here: https://products.office.com/en-US/student
