    Hello Krish,

We actually no longer are supported by the VM on Azure. Apologies for any inconvenience.

    Ok, got it.

Would there still be a way to host a server that is accessible from a different network?  I wanted to make a server so my students could  access our class's worlds while at home.  The current method I have been using to host multiplayer worlds is with the hosting option, but that only opens up the server to LAN.

    Krish, Kyle,

This is an excellent question to explore/pursue, however.

Native Minecraft versions support access from wide geographical/global reaches. The “enclosed” nature of M:EE (now even more so with the pictorial join codes) supports educators who may be starting out and want to limit access to their single classroom, but it also constrains those who would like to collaborate at a distance or provide for student access outside of school hours.

There are many options available with the Java version of MC through hosting servers, whitelists, plug-ins to manage permissions, and a whole host of other management options.

Is the M:EE product roadmap looking toward incorporating such features moving forward? Is the Azure hosting option gone for good, or is another technical option being considered?

Thanks for the feedback guys. We are exploring alternative solutions at this time.

    Kyle and Andrew:

What did you all come up with as an alternative solution? I'm wanting to lead a couple virtual summer camps for our students using M:EE and want to spin up a cloud-hosted Windows10 computer to use as a server. I was thinking Azure... but if it's not supported obviously we need to go a different direction.

I'd love to know what you all came up with, how it worked, and what you'd recommend. Thanks!

    Wes

I did find this recent post, and I have good experiences hosting a Minecraft server locally for our daughter and friends who connect remotely... However, I want to use M:EE for this virtual summer camp.
