P2P/SIG: Error Code:9

I have a student in my class that is unable to join other students worlds.

The error displayed is Unable to connect, please restart your client. P2P/SIG: Error Code:9

I am not sure what they mean by client?

The student is on a Mac with these specs: Mac Book Air M2, 20222, 8GB, running Sonoma 14.4.1

  Generally P2P/Sig errors are caused by Parental Controls, Proxies, VPNs, or similar blocking multiplayer between devices. 

  To help us break down the issue, can you check the following?

   

  1.) Are you using any proxies or filters (i.e. Web Filtering)? If so, can you confirm that you've allow listed all required URLs and added all Firewall exclusions?

  2.) Can you ensure that all installations of Minecraft Education are up to date? All players are required to be running the same version of Minecraft Education to play together.

  3.) Can you confirm that all updates for your device are installed? Keeping your device up to date can help prevent compatibility issues.

  4.) What domains are both student emails on? This can help us confirm if these students are in the same organization.

  5.) Is this affecting several students across the school? Knowing whether it’s device-specific or a broader network issue will guide our troubleshooting.

  6.) To assist you further, can you provide me a screenshot of the error you're receiving? Having this visual information allows us to investigate this issue more effectively and provide you a faster resolution.
