Is there a way to limit mob spawning in a world?

  Hey there!

  You can shut off mob spawning by setting your world to Peaceful mode.

  Um, I'm not sure that's the case, Danny

  It does *limit* spawning (no enderdragons unless you summon one)

  I set all of my games to creative and peaceful, (I am a scaredy cat about survival!!!) and my worlds spawn peaceful mobs like horses, chickens cows and wandering traders all the time.

  Debbie Alexander is correct Danny, setting to Peaceful only stops hostile mobs from spawning. 

  Susan MacNicoll, to stop peaceful mobs from spawning, go to the settings for the world, scroll down to cheats and toggle Mob Spawning to off. This will stop friendly mobs for spawning automatically as well, however you'll still be able to spawn friendly mobs with a spawn egg or the /summon command.
