Issues with Joining Shared Worlds
Hi there!
Trying to troubleshoot an issue we are experiencing. This is what is happening:
Today, I tried sharing a world using a laptop with other laptops, all were running on wifi. All immediately got the cannot connect message. I talked to my TSSPEC and he notice my laptop was not hard wired to the network. I borrowed a student and had them log into MC using a laptop and they were able to join the world. Had the student exit the world, unplugged the laptop from the network and gave a new join code to the student, no success.
I went into two first grade classes who happened to be in a free play session and several students were sharing a Minecraft world on their iPads. I was able to join their world with no problem. However, when I asked a student to join a world I created, they got the cannot connect error after being about five seconds. We have the same versions, 1.20.13.
In summary, students trying to join world teacher is hosting on either iPad or laptop (wireless) no success. The one area we were successful if the teacher's laptop was hard wired (student laptops on wireless). Also students on iPads were able to join each other's worlds, and have teacher join their world, but students could not join teacher's hosted world.
Any advice on what to try next or what to have our IT department investigate next? Thanks!

Hey there Ernest,
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues updating! Are you playing on a school issued device? I recommend reaching out to your school's IT admin to see if they can help you!
