Education Edition on Chromebook glitches whenever an Xbox controller is connected

I am playing on version 1.18.45 on a Chromebook I've had since 2020 and whenever I connect an Xbox One controller, the controller drifts upward on the right stick. I've tested it on other applications and it works fine, even on the Xbox One I use this controller on it works well. I can't even configure any settings with this controller without it automatically scrolling up on its own. If you know what causes this issue please let me know.

  I've had similar experiences with controller support on ChromeBooks.

  I don't think it has full controller support.

  That is correct. At this time, we do not offer full controller support but hopefully in the future we will.
