Username or password is incorrect
I've had multiple students not being able to sign into Minecraft: Education Edition on their Chromebook because it says their username or password is incorrect. For each of these I would have to do the following
1. Try signing in with their current password(password1)
2. Reset their password(password2)
3. Try signing in with password2 and get the same error
4. Reset their password back to password1 and it would work.
Is there something that would be causing this issue that I am overlooking?

From what you describe I can only guess that it might be due to changing the password from the app and not from going to Microsoft's site login with a web browser. The other thing is that it might be taking time to sync and when you change to password 2 the sync hasn't completed yet when you try to login with it.
