Character Keeps Looking at Sky
My students are using MInecraftEDU on Chromebooks. I have several students that are having issues with where their characters are looking. When they move the mouse (or keypad) to "look" forward, the screen tilts their head to look up at the sky. They can't work in MinecraftEDU because they can't look anywhere but up. Is there a fix for this? TIA

Hey there,
Oh that sounds frustrating. What OS version are you all on?
Are you able to share a video of this issue occurring (while leaving out any personal info)?

I wonder if your students are confusing the Move controls with the Look controls?
With the default controls, they should be moving with the WASD keys on the keyboard and looking around with the trackpad (or mouse). If they move the mouse or trackpad forward, the character will look straight up.
You can verify the movement settings in Minecraft in the Keyboard and Mouse section:
If you want to be sure that everyone is using the same settings, you can also advise students to reset them to the default with the Default Settings bottom at the very bottom of the same section:

I will say this Jason Kries - on our Windows PCs, when a previous student changes settings, it affects the next user sometimes. "If I has a nickel for every time....." Anything weird that reminds me of a setting, switch to default settings. =] Good advice.

I will check this when I have the class that is affected by problem. (I teach STEM Lab with 618 kids K-5th grades!) We are using Chromebooks. Each student has their own Chromebook so it could be something they changed in the settings or that they are confusing the controls. I am fairly new at using Minecraft in the classroom so my problem solving skills are developing. (The kids know more than I do :) We LOVE integrating Minecraft and I have used this community discussion group to learn so much already. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I will see if we have this problem on Friday.
