    Hey there!

Sorry to hear! It sounds like maybe your IT has some autowipe drive settings set up. I would recommend exporting files to an external storage now and then, or emailing them to yourself.

    Hope that helps!

I'm on my home computer and this happens to me as well, and has been ongoing for two years. It's not connected to updates, it's just that sometimes I open Minecraft and all my projects are gone. Now one of the first things I teach my students is to have a dedicated "Finished code" folder somewhere safe like a cloud drive, and back up all their finished code there.

Sarah Elliott that sounds disconcerting! I'm glad you have good strategies in place for it, of course...

You aren't connected to a drive service, like Google Drive for Desktop, or anything which might have sync'd the folder to the online copy, and then the online copy might be getting moved or something? I'm sorry for this!

I've got those services, but they're nowhere near my Minecraft files.

I've had teachers report it too, which is why I've added this to the new version of the museum's Rocks and Minerals world. It usually takes a couple months for it to happen, but after the third time I had to reconstruct the absolutely massive lava path code, I started practicing what I preach. 😁

I still cringe at data losses from years ago! It motivates! I'm famous for my "back up your files" mantra in my old RPG Making days =D but it's easy to lapse and then pay the consequences!

In the upper right there, you have the gear. I usually only see that when I use MakeCode online. But you have this problem directly from the game, I take it.

Well, we are the back-up people for sure! =] As I probably said up there /^ I have the kiddos send themselves their code after every class, or send it to me in their LMS. If nothing else, it gives them an iteration of what they are doing. Grateful for super folks like you, Sarah!
