    Hi Laurence Boulter

As far as redstone is concerned, it works the same in Education or Bedrock.

I'm not familiar with that specific redstone setup, but in my experience with redstone, I usually try to keep things on the simpler side. Setups like that are overly complex for what you're trying to achieve, and it's very easy to miss something.

That said, there are some other options that might provide similar "wow" factor but with less setup headaches. You can check out the tutorial on my YouTube channel here for making some automatic sliding doors.

Alternatively, you could use command blocks. I'd link the command chain to either a button, or a command block with /testfor that will detect the play and then automatically fill the entire space with air and then back to blocks after a set time, allowing the player to pass. If you want to get really fancy, you could set up a command chain that fills one rank at a time on either side (to mimic a door opening and closing).

If you'd like any more info on how any of the above suggestions work, or just need some help, let me know.

    Hi Dani Noble

    Really appreciate the reply.

Not sure why the solutions for sticky piston doors are always different for Bedrock and Java. This one was very neat and pretty simple to follow.... just two lines of redstone and a flying machine for each column in the door. The bedrock versions all had a massive nest of redstone circuitry, so I was never going to replicate that! But, the 7x7 variation was not demonstrated, the poster just provided a commentary with the 8x8 demo on how modify for the 7x7. Probably a few things lost in translation.

Love the sliding door video, really useful, but intrigued about the command blocks - never knew they existed! Took  a look at your "secret blocks" video - first I've known about any of these! So lots to play with and there are some useful options for my door.

Thank you!  I'll let you know how I get on.

    Much appreciated!

Hi Dan. I shelved the piston doors for the moment. It was a cosmetic really, so want to get the core of the Makecode project I'm working on. The doors weren't essential for a viable solution - but I will return!

Working on a championship arena for coding. The doors would have provided a grand entrance! But need to wrestle with Makecode to automate the installation of maps for a range of challenges. Not without its problems..... I'm just about to post about it

I wi come back to it though, and really grateful to have your input. Thanks!
