    Hi Pranav Sriram

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

I haven't encountered this issue yet myself. A couple of thoughts:

    1. When installing, right-click on the .exe and "Run as administrator".

    2. If that doesn't work, uninstall and try installing Minecraft Education from the Microsoft Store. It's a different installer and installs differently, so you may have better luck with this version.

Thank you for the reply Dan,

As for installing the .exe as an admin, I tried that and got the same result.

And for installing minecraft from the windows store, I tried that too and minecraft did get installed but I could not sign in. When I searched up articles regarding that problem I got the reason being because of there being another version or edition of minecraft installed on the same device. So I found the other minecraft editions installed, but I could not uninstall it as it said the minecraft edition was invalid but the application icon was still there (screenshot attached).

Check Start>Settings>Apps>Apps & Features and see if the multiple installs are in this location. If so, try uninstalling them from the Settings app rather than Control Panel. Hopefully you'll have more success this way.

Sorry to hear that, Pranav Sriram

I'd suggest deleting the folders associated with Minecraft on the c:\ drive. You might also want to try using a removal/cleaning utility like ccleaner. In the past, I've found tools like this good for removing stubborn programs and cleaning up the orphaned registry items.

Short of that, it looks like there are some serious issues creeping into your OS. Might be time for a reinstall.
