Addons break my game (chromebook)
When I tried to install an .mcpack file, I right clicked and clicked open in minecraft edu (on my chromebook), the game opened and I pressed sign in but then the game just reloaded. Closing the game, restarting my chromebook and even reinstalling the game don't work. Is there anyway I can fix my game and if so, is there a safe way to install addons that doesn't break the game.

Sorry, resource packs are not officially supported for Minecraft Education Edition.

Dani Noble Ok (idk why they have the resource packs section then lol), but is there at least a way I can fix it?

While they're are many free resource packs available on the internet, we take no responsibility in their use; they main contain viruses or other malware, and additionally as they were developed for Bedrock edition, they may cause significant issues is Minecraft Education Edition, including corruption of worlds, or the game installation.
So, essentially while you can use resource packs with Education Edition, they were developed for Bedrock edition, and may or may not work and there's no support for fixing resource packs that don't work.
