Student has a constant message "Building Terrain."

Hello!  My student is trying to complete an assignment for class.  When she signs in and tries to open the world she was making, she has a constant message "building terrain."  How can this be resolved, please?

  Hi Beth-

  There are a few things you can look at.  

  • Can you confirm that the device meets the minimum system requirements?  System Requirements – Minecraft: Education Edition Support
  • You can try going into the video settings and turning down some of the advanced rendering options:

  

  • In video settings, also decrease the Render distance setting:
  • we have also seen this type of behavior with corrupt user profiles.  You could try to do a full ininstall and clean install of the game.  Make sure to export and save all worlds first!  This article describes how to use the uninstaller tool:  https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047118832  Scroll down to "Step 1..." and start there
