Manually Removing Minecraft
Hi there, I am an elementary tech teacher. Students have been installing the microsoft store version of minecraft and it is breaking their minecraft. There must be a subtle difference between the download EXE and microsoft store, because if you do the latter it causes the dreaded sign in issue "no internet connection." We also have minecraft installers in a district operated zenworks application container so 3x possible install methods are floating around and kids are trying ALL of them.
I have had success downloading the EXE with 98% of students that had the sign in issue. Today I had a student computer that I uninstalling the game and it still refused to let them sign in with a fresh re-install. I tried deleting her cache files in her minecraft "appdata" folder on her user profile. What files do I need to manually delete to get rid of this issue? Surely it is a corrupted cache file somewhere from multiple game installs that is the root cause of this.

Hi there Jacob Radcliffe. I'm sorry to hear about the the difficulties helping your student get their system cleared up to run Minecraft: Education Edition. In this case you may need to clear the whole cache, rather than just the Minecraft folder in appdata, since those files can persist in other locations as well. Let me know if that works!
