Summon spawn event not working
Hi I am trying to create a horse racing event for our students to celebrate Melbourne Cup day here in Australia. It's a public holiday in our state and an opportunity to have a conversation around probability etc.
ideally I would like to make a command block that summons a tamed horse already saddled. However when I put in a spawn event eg.
/summon horse ~ ~ ~ horse_saddled it comes out unsaddled
I tried colour eg,
/summon horse ~ ~ ~ make_black but the horse always comes out gray no matter hwat colour I choose.
There is no syntax error so I'm wondering whether this is a bug or not working in Minecraft Education. Or am i doing something wrong?
Also is there an easy way for me to allow no mobs except horses to spawn in the world?
Thanks,
Toby

Thank you for reaching out with this. I have been in touch with the dev team all morning trying to figure out a way to make this work for you. Java is the only version that you can modify the variables of a creature to spawn (so your saddled black horses). It will not work in Minecraft: Education Edition.
One of the developer suggestions was to create a resource pack to create horses that are all one color and saddled (that way its an even playing field for the students). If you do not want to deal with the resource pack you can just spawn in as many horses as you need and saddle them all. Then you can put them in a hidden location in the world and make sure you name tag them all so they will not de-spawn. Then the command block can be used to teleport the nearest student and nearest horse to the starting location of the race.
Once you have your horses spawned and tagged you can go back into settings and turn off the mobs so you will not be interrupted in world.
I hope this helps and good luck and have fun!
