Can we play MInecraftEE worlds in the Java Edition?

Wondering if we create worlds in Minecraft Education Edition can we open/launch those worlds in the Java Edition?

This would be helpful as currently we need to get the Java Edition to play other schools in Minecraft eSports.

  Hi!

  It is possible, although you'll have to go through a minorly complicated conversion process. On top of that (because you noted this is for esports), things like command blocks loose their commands most of the time. Some blocks loose rotation etc. Converting is best when you need the base map without fancy commands.

  Yes! That's exactly what I need, base map without fancy commands. At most I want kids to build some basic buildings to hide chests with armor, weapons, food, etc.

  Where can I find directions/instructions for converting an education edition world to a Java world?
