Server from home

With the teaching from home we cannot use the servers in class. 

Has anyone figured out how to start a server and have students from home joining ? 

Minecraft Realms type situation would be useful.

  Not much that I can find, aside from "did you try turning it off and on again?":

  Cannot connect multiplayer on different networks

  • Versions Impacted: Mac, iPad, Windows
  • Workaround: Close and restart the game
    
  • Status: This is a known issue
