I am having the same issue as Josh. Is this a new bug and if so is there a workaround?

I'm have the same problem. I got everything set up yesterday and did the raining sheep tutorial to test things out and then today I just get "connection closed". I've uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled both Minecraft and Code Connection, plus checked the firewall rules are in place.

Can confirm. My son and I were using Code Connection 1.5 yesterday with Minecraft 1.7 for Windows 10, and it worked perfectly. Today, however, exactly 24 hours later, with no updates that I could detect since then:

    Connection established to server:
    ws://192.186.0.126:19131
    Connection closed

    This connection is closed immediately.

Removing and re-installing CodeConnection 1.5 does not help.

If no updates occurred in the past 24 hours, then this is a "time bomb" category of bug.

I also have the same problem. The connection to the server is established and then it abruptly closes by itself. The exact same version of Minecraft and CodeConnection as Mr. Marr.

Wanted to update everyone since I received an answer from Microsoft. They said that this is a known bug with Windows 10 Edition that they are currently working on fixing. I'm not sure where you can follow bugfixes for Windows 10 Edition so it might be best just to update daily and keep trying until it works. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft for Windows 10 but the same problem persists. So no updates from MS or Mojang to solve this problem yet.

It's funny though, the update to Minecraft 1.7 a couple of days ago worked successfully with Code Connection for only about 24 hours, and is unable to maintain a connection thereafter.

Yup, installed Minecraft Win 10 for the first time ever last night, looking forward to do some coding with MakeCode and all and couldn't get it working at all with the same issue as op. Finally found this forum and yeah... Hope a fix comes out soon.

Same problem here. Installed Code Connection for the first time after installing Minecraft 1.7 for Windows 10 and always got back "Connection Closed".
Starting Code Connection from the command line output some additional debug informations:
    -------------------------
    WS server listening at 192.168.86.30:19131
    REST server listening at 192.168.86.30:8080
    Accepted protocol? true
    Connected! 192.168.86.30
    Client connected to Code Connection
    Client is in education mode
    Encryption enabled
    Minecraft side command execution failed
    Unable to create Agent
    Connection initialization error, aborting connection
    Error validating connection
    Connection closed
    -------------------------

I wonder if "Client is in education mode" is ok also for Windows 10 edition.

Its 1.7 update that cause the issue. You can roll back to 1.6 but its not simple. If you happen to have a working copy of 1.6 somewhere on one of your computer you can copy it from WindowsApps in programs files then on the target PC you Uninstall 1.7 then copy 1.6.

After that you need to register the app manually in powershell then repair the install by moving it to a different drive on the PC.....

I am having the same issue, then I try to open other PC's Minecraft for Windows 10 offline to make it still 1.6 ,the code connection works fine. So, I think its 1.7 update cause the issue.
