Villagers not spawning

Hello, whenever I try to spawn a villager they come for a second then disappear. Does anybody know why?

  Oh weird! Does this only happen for villagers or other passive mobs / mobs as well?

  What kind of device are you on?

  Sounds like you have mobs disabled. 

  Try entering the following commands: 

  /gamerule domobspawning true

  /gamerule allowmobs true
