Flexibility and Control in Minecraft Education
Hello,
I'm not entirely sure this is the right place for this question.
I am creating a Lord of the Flies unit for my class. I want them to have to survive on an island for 7 days, creating rules for their groups, completing objectives, etc.
One of the things I want to implement is a hardcore mode, which I know I can do with an add-on.
The other thing I would like to be able to do is create events, and take the form of different creatures.
I also would like to have roles for each player to force cooperation.
Is this all possible via command blocks and add-ons, or am I trying to do things outside the scope of the game?
Any ideas on how I can create an authentic survival experience would be great.

Hi Craig Snider,
I'd say most of what you want to do is well within the scope of the game. I recently collaborated with an educator to create a survival experience, similar in some ways to what you're planning to do.
How familiar are you with redstone, command blocks/commands, and creating resource packs?
If you'd like to schedule a virtual chat, I'd be happy to share my resources and help you with anything you need. I can have one of the admins exchange our email addresses for us.

Hey Dan,
That's good news!
I am familiar with redstone and creating resource packs, but admittedly, command blocks are new for me. I've only played with them a little. I've used some commands for TP, day and time, giving certain items, etc. And, I played with the NPCs in Education edition, which I believe is similar.
I would love that. I can send you the full scope of what I want to do if you're interested. Just let me know a day and time and method of communication.

Penny would you be able to exchange our emails for us?
Craig Snider once I have your email, I'll contact you and we can arrange a virtual meet. Looking forward to chatting further about your project!
