Assign or Share Worlds and Lessons

Educators and students can share worlds and lessons through Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, and by email or a copy of a link that can be pasted to your preferred tool. This allows you to browse all the great content in the in-game library and on the Minecraft Education website and share it easily with your students in a fast and exciting way! This article provides information on how to share a world from the in-game library and how to share lessons from the Minecraft Education website. 

 

Assign or share a world from the in-game Library 

Follow these steps to share a world from the in-game library. 

  1. From the Play menu, select View Library. 
  2. Navigate to the world you want to assign or share. 
  3. Educators, select Assign or Share. Students, select Share Link.  
  4. To add a link to an assessment tool or resource like a Flipgrid Topic, Microsoft Forms quiz, or a website.  
  5. Click Add a Resource. 
  6. Enter the URL for the resource and a name for the button. 
  7. Click Done. 
  8. Select your method of sharing:

Microsoft Teams 

 

 

Only available for Windows and Chromebook 
  1. Select Microsoft Teams. 
    Result: The Share to Microsoft Teams form opens in a new browser window. 
  2. Provide the necessary information to share or assign the world. 
  3. Select Share or Assign. 

Email 
  1. Select Email. 
    Result: Your email application opens to a new draft email with the link to the world. 
  2. Enter the email addresses and select Send. 

Google Classroom 

 

 

Only available for Windows and Chromebook 
  1. Select Google Classroom. 
    Result: Google Classroom opens in a separate browser window. 
  2. Follow the steps to choose an action (e.g. create an assignment, ask a question, make an announcement, or create material). 

Another tool 
  1. For Windows and macOS, Select Copy then paste the link in your preferred tool and share it. 
    Result: The link is copied to your clipboard. 
  2. For Chromebook and iOS, Select Share. 
    Result: The Share experience opens so that you can share the link in your preferred app or tool. 

 
Result: The link is shared and the recipients can access your world by opening the link. When the students open the link, a web browser opens and attempts to open the Library page in Minecraft Education. Students select Create World when they’re ready to begin.  

Note: Students may need to confirm that it's ok to open Minecraft. If Minecraft Education isn't installed, they can follow the directions on the page to download and install it.  

 

Assign or share a lesson from the Minecraft Education website 

Follow these steps to share a lesson from the Minecraft Education website. 

  1. Select Class Resources > Find a Lesson. 
  2. Browse the lessons for the one you want to use. 
  3. Select View Lesson. 
  4. Click Share or Assign.

Microsoft teams 

 

Only available for Windows and Chromebook 
  1. Select Teams. 
    Result: The Share to Microsoft Teams form opens in a separate browser window. 
  2. Enter the name, group, or channel to share to and select Share. 

Google Classroom 

 

Only available for Windows and Chromebook 
  1. Select Google Classroom. 
    Result: Google Classroom opens in a separate browser window. 
  2. Follow the steps to choose an action (e.g. create an assignment, ask a question, make an announcement, or create material). 

Email 
  1. Select Email. 
    Result: Your email application opens to a new draft email with the link to the world. 
  2. Enter the email addresses and select Send.

Result: The link is shared and students can access the lesson by opening the shared link. When the students open the link, a web browser opens to the lesson page. Students need to download the world and import it into Minecraft Education to get started.
