MInecraft isn't letting me break blocks

How come Minecraft isn't letting me break blocks? I am not in adventure mode and I checked if I needed an update. No I don't. I need an answer please!

  Hi there Tyler Mitsri. In this case you should check your settings and make sure you're set worldbuilder (you can use /wb for that) and that the world is set Immutable Off.
