Hi there Rachel Ramaley. I'm sorry to hear about your world files. Can you let me know if you can enter the blank areas, or if they're just showing as blank and still interactable? Is there any way you could try this world on another device? Let us know!

Thank you for your help so far,

While we are in Creative, we can enter the blank areas. When we go beneath the surface of the blue area, it looks like this:

In Survival, we automatically die when we go beneath the surface of the blue area. I'm not sure if we can try the world on another device; we only have Minecraft downloaded on our laptop computer.

I have also just noticed that, going back onto the world, it is different than it was before the holes appeared - there are now villagers in the village that we spawned next to, where there wasn't when we spawned the first time, and some other trivial things are different. As you can see in the pictures, the undestroyed parts of the structures we built are still there, but other things have changed. I hope this helps.

Hi there Rachel Ramaley. Thank you for providing those screenshots. In this case, we've been able to determine that during the process of saving, the world was corrupted. This may be due to closing the app before the saving function could complete, or due to the app crashing during the save process.

We are, unfortunately, unable to restore damaged worlds like this, and recommend making multiple backups of your world when possible. I apologize for the trouble here.

Thank you very much. How do we know when the world has finished saving so that we can avoid closing it down too early?
