Wrong language
I'm new to Minecraft, hoping to teach programming to my grand-daughter. Despite setting my profile language to English (US), when I try to go to the beginning presentations on MInecraft Education Edition they are presented in Spanish, and when I go to the bottom of the screen and switch to English (US) I'm thrown back to the English-language preceding page, and when I try to go to the presentation again, it is again in Spanish. It happens that I do speak Spanish, but my grand-daughter doesn't. How can I fix this problem?

This sounds like a setting in the browser you are using is set to Spanish as its default. Go to the top right of your screen and look for the three dots. Go there and into your settings and see if that is set as the default. Let us know if that helps.

In both Chrome and Edge the language is set to English. And the initial screens are in English -- they change to Spanish when I try to go to one of the options. As I said, I'm new to Minecraft. I paid for a download of the Java version of Minecraft, and only a bit later did I choose Education. I'm a very experienced programmer, but I'm quite lost; I don't even know where Minecraft has been installed on my Windows 10 machine.

I see, can you send any screenshots of the issue occurring, a before and after so I might be able to troubleshoot further?

When I tried to send you screen shots I was told that my content was unacceptable, so all I can do is give you urls. Starting from signing in, https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us is in English. I go to Minecraft Education Edition Home and it's in Spanish: https://education.minecraft.net/es-es/homepage. I try going to minecraft.net and I'm signed in automatically and sent to minecraft.net/es-es.On top of all this, I repeat that I'm otherwise lost, in that I don't know where is the Java Minecraft that I bought and downloaded on my Windows 10 machine. Nor do I see where to start to learn. Totally frustrating.

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. In the bottom left most corner you will find "Espanol". Click it and select English.

As I said, I did that. Repeatedly, to no avail.

Bruce Sherwood - I had a devil of a time when I started on the site here because I had logins for my personal account, which handled my ownership of Windows / Office on my personal devices, and my school/Minecraft accounts. Is there any chance you have two separate accounts?
The folder location stuff is tricky. Search for mojang or minecraftpe, and show hidden files (in general.) This is where my stuff is, afaik, and installation location.

I gave up and got a refund. The plan is for my spouse to buy a family version, in the hopes that she won't encounter the same problems. I don't find any of the software on my computer now, but thanks for the info.
