Stuck when opening on macOS 11.6.1
Looks like there are a bunch of posts about this, across various platforms, but MC: EE gets stuck on downloading resources, sometimes the title screen with visible (but non-interactive) buttons to start the game, and often, just a blank title screen with no buttons but the world background shows up.
I've tried 1.14.70, 1.17.31, deleting caches, files in Application Support, restarting, etc. Normal Minecraft works perfectly fine.
I bought this game to play it with my nephew who just got it for Christmas. It's beyond frustrating to have paid for EE to play it while he's off from school and I'm off from work, just to have it not work. Can the good folks who work on this please prioritize a fix? Given how long this has been talked about, it just makes EE look completely neglected.

I actually have the same problem - its a bit worse for me as I'm in charge of the enterprise install policies and I can't even get it to load on Mac :(.

Same troubles here. Did you find a fix?
I'm on OS 10.13.6 and spent the last hour trying to make the the game just open if nothing else. It flashes open for split second then tells me the program quit unexpectedly. Sigh. My kids Christmas present. Should have stuck with the older version we had running rather than updating.

Hi all,
So, for users that are running High Sierra OS and the game is crashing on startup are you able to try and update the OS past High Sierra? If you are unable to please open a ticket with the support team so we can find the best solution for you.
I have some things we can try for the downloading resources error and the title screen with visible but non-interactive buttons to start the game.
- Update OS helps a lot of Mac issues that occur.
- Add Minecraft Education Edition as an exception in any local firewall / antivirus program.
- And delete the "resource pack" folder. When a file is corrupted or missing the issue described above can occur. After deleting and then running Minecraft Education will cause that folder to be re-downloaded.
We have released a hotfix (v1.17.31) on Chromebook, Windows, and Mac which once downloaded, should fix the downloading resources issue for a majority of devices. If the issue persists, it will allow you to skip past the downloading resources screen. Bryan Keller did you see an option to skip the downloading resources screen after it was stuck on that page a while?
