Game freezes after logging in - macOS Monterey
Hi, I have an issue when starting Minecraft Education Edition on macOS Monterey (12.0.1). After logging in to Microsoft account the game completely freezes (not even the music is playing). The only way to stop the game is to go into Activity Monitor and kill the process.
Here's the recording of what happens: https://cln.sh/1fNBM3
I've tried reinstalling the game, cleaning the user preferences folder inside ~/Library/Application Support/minecraftpe. To no effect.
I've also run the game from the command line (/Applications/minecraftpe.app/Contents/MacOS/minecraftpe) and I've got these logs: https://gist.github.com/taniotanio7/1a08f264c4b994d2a7023d66366d5105
Please help me. I'm out of ideas why this keeps happening 🙃. Btw the regular Minecraft Java Edition works just fine 😅
Thanks for these reports. Our team is investigating some issues with Macs currently, so this is very useful information.-1
I am also seeing this issue running Minecraft Education (v1.17.31) on macOS 12.0.1 and macOS 12.1. However on a Mac running macOS 11.6 the login process completes just fine and I am able play.
This is a particular problem as we are planning to use Minecraft Education in an advanced visual arts class on campus and our computer lab is running macOS 12.1.
Are then any workarounds or fixes to enable Minecraft Education (v1.17.31) to run without this issue?
As the previous poster mentions, the regular (Java) edition runs just fine on macOS 12.0.1 and macOS 12.1
(Oh and by the way my Microsoft login works just fine for Minecraft Education on Windows PC and iPad versions also)2
Any news about this bug?

Any updates on this? This has been an ongoing issue for a while....?1
Unfortunately no Ron, still plaguing us all!0
I am reporting the same issue on on

Minecraft takes up disproportionate amount of CPU recourses, effectively freezing on multiple occasions with maxing up several cores (6 cores). In gameplay, the Minecraft usually displays a loading bar while playing and freezes. The only way around is to force quit the app.
Combined with connectivity issues of the latest iOS Minecraft app, the Minecraft became unusable at our school.
I would love to provide detailed log, however, Minecraft doesn't produce any. If there is a way to help with precise logging, I will gladly help.0
I can create a ticket for you to work with us in debugging this. Albert Radvan thank you for offering to help out with this.0
