File not Marked for Installtion

One of my students is trying to install MEE and he gets a message saying the file is not marked for installation.

It is a windows computer

Does anyone know what this means?

  Hi Andrew Williams - we've seen similar issues when there is a corrupt registry entry.  You can try this to see if it fixes your issue:

  1. If there was a previous version of Minecraft: Education Edition on the device, follow the instructions in Step one on this page to save worlds: Transitioning to the desktop application for Minecraft: Education Edition – Minecraft: Education Edition Support
  2. Follow Step 2 in the guide to run the removal tool
  3. Reinstall the app
