Cannot mine or place

This is weird, i cant mine, place or edit blocks. I went to some other forum posts and it said us command /wb i did it and its still not working. I play on a HP Chromebook, the world is survival with cheats, and i invited my friends to that world and they could mine. Do you think its the computer? or should i reinstall Minecraft Edu? Also do my worlds get deleted if i reinstall Minecraft Edu? Please help.

  If you re-install Minecraft Education, the worlds won't get deleted. They are saved locally but I recommend exporting your worlds and having backups in case anything happens to them.
