Some students can place and break, some can not
I am my schools ICT coordinator and am starting to introduce MEE to classes. I downloaded and edited the world from the lesson "Welcome To The Community". I kept the settings the same so that I was an operator and all students who joined would be members. We had no problem getting into the world, and all students appeared with member permissions. When they started to try to build I had 5/19 students who could not place or destroy blocks. I played on their device and it was not user error. We tried leaving the game and re-entering, and that did not work. We tried closing the program and re-opening and that did not work. We tried logging in on a different computer and that did not work. I tried changing their permission to operator and they could still not place or destroy blocks. Does anyone have any ideas of what else I could try????

I am doing the same lesson tomorrow with another class. Fingers crossed that the ghost in the system does not show up again!

Okay, we know the problem continues after restarting the game, and follows a user's sign-in onto another device. So the problem seems to be associated with the user's account, does this seem to be a fair assessment? Have those users been able to break and place in their own worlds (do you know?) It sounds to me like you want to reach out to support.

On one of the profiles that was not working I opened a different world and we could build and destroy.

Ahh, so the plot thickens! smh... Well, I hope at least all of the accounts work properly outside of that world.

Hi Jeff McPherson one other thing to try is to make sure each student has worldbuilder permissions.
-open chat and type /wb

Update: I have figured out what was going on! There is a problem with the world I was using. Some of the spaces for students to build in are set to immutable status. The student kept returning to the same plot of land and that is why the issue followed them from device to device. It is also why they could build in other worlds. Not a profile issue at all. Now to figure out how to change status out of immutable for the areas that are effected…
also should I report the problem with the world somehow so other people don’t end up with the same issue?

Thanks for the update Jeff McPherson! Yes, please let me know what world you saw this in and I'll report it to our content team.
