We're aware of a visual bug with uninstalling Minecraft: Education Edition from Windows computers. Users may see multiple versions of Minecraft: Education Edition installed, however there should only actually be installed (unless you have the desktop app + the store version, that's a different case).

Users may also uninstall Minecraft: Education Edition, see it in their app/sprograms, and then get an error when trying to uninstall it again. This is also a visual error, from our experience the app was successfully removed upon uninstallation, however due to this bug you will still see it and any other past versions in your add/remove programs.

For now, the workaround is to use the tool here to remove the registry edits from your computer, thus also removing it from add/remove programs. Currently, our other uninstaller mentioned in the thread does not fix this issue.

A long term fix for this visual error is slated for our next release, thank you for your patience.

Ran across this EXACT issue today.  I ended up installing the freeware Revo Uninstaller and going through their wizard and deleting all registry entries, etc. and it removed it from Add Remove Programs.  You can uninstall Revo afterwards.

The way to fix this is you need to go to settings. home and then App and Features and then find MC Edu then press unninstall

https://aka.ms/meeremove That uninstall tool does nothing.  It doesn't even find that the education edition is installed as it is looking for the APPX versions.  If I run an uninstall tool it shows 3 versions of Minecraft: Education Edition installed with 3 different uninstall strings but only one of them works and its still leaves an entry in add remove programs.

Mark Scarberry That is odd, I've gone ahead and created a ticket where I'll dive deeper into this and see what may be going on. See you on the other side!

Yep! I got the same.. Had 3 versions in Apps/Features, managed to uninstall one of them but can't remove the other 2..? My son doesn't need this App anymore & it's annoying as I'm trying to create space on hard drive for upgrade. :(

You can manually delete the game files from your system if you have admin privileges. If you see multiple copies this may be due to it being a windows device and users installing from different sources. This includes our main website and using the Windows Store to install multiple copies. If this is done, then when you remove one copy your system may think/has removed the other copies as well but didn't log that in your programs and features.

I tried all those but they don't work. It's still there and I uninstalled it but it's still there.

i downloaded  revo uninstaller and used that, then uninstalled Minecraft education. If something pops up and says 'this action is only valid for products that are installed', then just press 'OK' and ignore it, because revo uninstaller will continue to uninstall it. it might take a while but it works.

    Hey there Zahraa!

1.18.42 is currently the most updated version.

Also, if you are able to, feel free to check out our beta:

As Phoebe Yang said above if you simply download Revo uninstaller, this is method will terminate the app and its errors entirely. I just preformed this task today and it solved all the issues and frustration that I had been encountering for years. This method works terrific and had no issues when uninstalling this application. Just make sure to delete all the interconnected files with each other when it gives you the list of files associated with it.
