Minecraft instant crash

I can't open Minecraft without it crashing upon open. The window flashes white and closes, on Mac.

  We have the same issue right after updating to minecraft ed 1.17 recently. It just wont even open. It worked once after restarting computer but wont work again.

  I would like to be able to install the previous version, but I can't find older installers..
