The server is disconnected when the MEE window is minimized
Hi,
I need urgent help i have many students that when they minimize the mee window the server is disconnected,
in our classes, students minimize the window to see the browser, classroom, meet, etc. and if we are on the same server, it disconnects us from it

We have released a hotfix (v1.17.31) on Chromebook, Windows, and Mac which once downloaded, should fix this issue for a majority of devices.

My students also lose connection to the server when they play in windowed mode and toggle to see the browser where the online class is located.

Thanks for reporting this issue. Could you let us know a couple of things to help us troubleshoot this issue:
- What type of device are you using?
- What OS are you running on the devices?
- Can you provide a screenshot or the exact text of the error you see?

I am using a desktop computer the operating system is Windows 10, and look this video:

I have not had the problem of being disconnected due to minimizing the window, However I have noticed that Minecraft doesn't seem to like being minimized. I try to switch windows instead of minimizing windows whenever I can since it is much quicker and I don't need to wait for the screen to re-load the way it does when I forget and minimize Minecraft.
If the task bar isn't accessible you can try alt+tab to cycle between the open windows. Hold Alt and hit tab till you get to what window you want to be on.
I don't know if that will fix your issue but worth a try!

Thanks Aleece Landis this is great advice! Our engineers were able to duplicate the issue and are looking into it. In the meantime, I would absolutely second what Aleece mentioned above. Have your students switch windows instead of minimizing when they are actively playing Minecraft: Education Edition.

Any updates on this. It is really annoying when some one forgets and accidentally minimizes instead of switching windows.

Having the same issue here. Hopefully we get an update soon, pretty annoying and inconvinent.
