Forms of Government lesson
I've created a lesson for my 4th graders as they study forms of government. We are NOT in America, so we are actually studying several forms of government equally.
I used Minecraft for their final assessment, and of course they were very motivated. I am not skilled at Minecraft, even though I didn't complete all of the tutorial modules. I quickly learned that these 9-year-olds were light-years ahead of me. Anyway, I created the project because there wasn't one in Minecraft already. I'd be happy to share it, but honestly I think I'd need to share my PDF or word document and ask for someone else to take it from there. If the lesson plan submission form doesn't require screenshots and other Minecraft pieces, I'd fill that out. Any suggestions, or any takers?

For the purposes of running lessons with Minecraft, you do not need to be at the same level as the students, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Generally, for most educators, I'd say a basic understanding of how the application works in regards to creating or introducing lessons, and how to move around in worlds for assessment purposes is more important.
If you're looking at becoming a content creator, then, picking up some additional advanced skills would be helpful (and I can help with that it you're interested).
I really like the sounds of your lesson, and I would be interested in seeing it. I've collaborated with a number of educators to come up with unique, custom lessons and content, so I might have more suggestions once I've seen it. Let me know here, and I can have one of the admins exchange our emails for us.

Hi Dan,
I'd be happy to collaborate on the project. Thank you for offering to help. There is a need for this topic in Minecraft, and the "build" isn't particularly challenging. It's just that I have no idea how to go about formatting the lesson plan with screenshots, etc. I've attached the students' directions to give you an overview. The decision-making within each group was done in a "dictatorship, democratic, or monarchy" style, which was very fun to watch. Understandably, the democratic group progressed the slowest!

Wow, this is a great project. I'd love to see the results of the students work and chat further to see where we can take it.
Penny, when you've got a moment, could you exchange our email addresses?
