How long does a host share link last?

I don't really understand how you were able to generate a join link before your PC turned on?  Was that a typo?

Anyway, I've generally not used the join links and so far in my experience they have not been working for my students to connect to each other's worlds (we are remote.)  And since I have more than one computer at my location that hosts worlds, I have to have the students enter the ip address and port in order to join all but one of the computers.  (have to use port forwarding rules etc.)

BUT my experience is that how long a join code works before needing to be regenerated is probably not a function of minecraft but may be more of a network issue since it seems kinda random as to how long it remains stable.  As in, if students have a connection problem, I have to regenerate the join code.  At least for me, that just means telling them to enter the IP address and port again to join since that doesn't actually change but it does change the join code for anyone on my lan and they have to enter the new code.

I've had a join code last 2 days and keep working, Most of the time I will refresh it each day.  I have also had times when the Join code quits working after only a few hours.

I would agree with Aleece Landis, Ki Sung Bae... could be as simple an issue of your computer going into sleep mode, or the network adapter going into sleep mode.

I would check your systems sleep and hibernate settings.
