At this point, Education Edition does NOT have the option of dedicated servers.  This is something we have been requesting for years.  It should be noted that the dedicated server software solutions for Java Minecraft are way more advanced than the Bedrock Edition dedicated servers (which, though they have been available for years, are still only in the alpha stage of development.)  And since Education Edition is based on Bedrock..... Well even if they did release the possible dedicated server, it would definitely be more limited compared to something like Hermit-craft.

Now if your school or Teacher has access to an "extra" license they can set up a world on an "extra" machine and use it like a small server where they can give the students the IP address to log into that world and work on projects.  But the Hosting License "player" is still going to be in the world somewhere.

I agree, that we need dedicated servers.  Teachers have been requesting dedicated servers for several years.  There have been some pilot project with an Azure server for Education Edition but I've never heard any comment or results from that test and it is no longer available.
