it is already available, although making behavior packs and addons are not necessarily that easy. As for tutorials, since Minecraft edu does not support any behavior packs or resource packs, it is highly unlikely there will be one. It will probably be up to the user themselves to figure out how to make and to troubleshoot buggy packs.

Jim S is correct Julie Bodette

There is a big distinction between "not allowed" and "unsupported".

While they're are many possible customizations and many free resource packs, etc. available or demonstrated on the internet, we take no responsibility in their use; they main contain viruses or other malware, and additionally as they were developed for Bedrock edition, installation or instructions you find on customization may cause significant issues is Minecraft Education Edition, including corruption of worlds, or the game installation itself.

That said, if students (who will likely try anyway) are about to start experimenting they should be prepared by backing up their worlds and exporting them to a safe location prior to doing so and I generally caution students by relating that I've seen customizations go so badly that they completely corrupt the Minecraft installation to the point that they needed to reinstall the computers OS.

Dan Noble would it be possible to allow minecraft education edition to support addons?

Right now , you are unable to add new biomes , new blocks and new recipes.

    Hi Perfect Fit,

Ultimately that would be up to the development team. I would recommend if you have any specific features you'd like to see that you add them to the feature wishlist.

I would note that the determining factors for what and when certain elements make it into Education Edition from Bedrock are geared to how they will apply to Education. So while we all definitely want to see new block textures etc, certain elements will take a priority over others as it applies to education.
