  • Assuming you all have accounts within the same domain, you'll want to open port 19132 on your home network, make sure everyone has the same version of the game, and then share the join code to connect (up to 30 people).

You don't, there is no dedicated server support (yet). What is the server hosted in the local network? Is it a Minecraft Education Client with a student account or a dedicated server program with configuration files?

To host a world, you will need to open the world on your own computer and press host game as a teacher. The students will then have to put in the code displayed on the host computer.
