Minecraft MAP Glitch, please HELP

I am teaching a STEM tech camp and we had a small map where 25 kids were all creating in the world.  We were saving yesterday and a huge chunk of the map is not there and it seems to have shrunk the map and now their area is in the void.  Is there a way to refresh the size of the map?  It's really odd because when they respawn they are in the middle of nowhere and you can't even see the map.

  Hi Monty King ,

  I try restarting the computer that is hosting the world if you haven't already. 

  Also, after each build session, I always export the world in case there are any corruptions or accidents that occur so that I have a backup.

  The map is slowly getting smaller or more corrupt.  We started Monday and yesterday when we saved it took a chunk of the map and now when we saved it and then exported it and imported another chunk is now gone.  Is there any way to expand the map to see if it brings back the areas that are deleting?

  Have you tried importing it onto a different device?

  Any resource packs or skin packs loaded?

  Unfortunately, once I file becomes corrupt the only real recourse is to import an earlier version before the corruption occurred.
