Loved to know I can use Minecraft in project-based learning in any subject combined with the motivation of games.

I am so excited to learn about Minecraft! I was so excited watching the lessons and seeing the students own their learning! I am equally excited to learn more about game- based play in the classroom!

My AHA moment happened when a notion of guided exploration arose in the chat. That got me thinking about the teacher's role in a classroom. A teacher is more than a guide or facilitator. A teacher is a friend who is going through the learning process as well and never stops picking something new. A teacher can be a role model for students to understand that it's okay to make a mistake or try to solve a problem in their own way.

Wow! I was finally able to log-in to complete my reflection. Tonight  was excellent on content but my technology decided it wanted to act extremely stubborn so I was lagging the entire time and I was kicked out a few times.

But this was an excellent session and I'm very excited to be a part of this cohort and to learn what it is that has my students so excited. They can play for hours if I allow them so I want to experience the excitement and learning experience that they do. Plus I just want to have some fun!

My biggest takeaway(s) were the engagement of the cohort and how enthusiastic Wendy was in presenting. I love to see a presenter exude the enthusiasm that she showed during this session. This makes me extremely excited about the next three weeks.

Thanks for offering this opportunity for us.

  • My biggest take away was being in space with a big group of like minded folks who I will learn a lot from. I am rereading the chats, and wow!

No questions at this time, but I will have some once I continue with the modules.

    1.  My biggest takeaway was finding out that this certification will also qualify me officially to teach Minecraft, even with your own company!  That is cool.  :)  Also, the time management is useful.  You told me I have to do three lessons by next time, so it will get done.  :)  I CAN'T WAIT to start using Minecraft.  I was really hoping we would actually play today, but I guess that is in a future lesson.

    2.  No questions.  It was really hard for me to finally have access to completing this survey. I thought I had to click on "New Post," and each time I kept filling out much information until I reached a dead end and had to start again.  Finally, I saw that there was a comment section ABOVE the big blue "New Post" rectangle.  Whew!  I really spent a lot of time on this.

The course went so fast and I guess the best part was seeing people from all over.  I thought we would be taught things that we couldn't see in the course itself, on our own, but I guess it was nice working together.  A bit disappointed that there was no hands-on.

My biggest takeaway was learning about preparing students to be future-ready with Minecraft.

My question is how do I build my spatial skills?

    Thanks for a great session!

Teisha Langford good question! Are you hosting at school and they're joining at school, or you are both on diff networks?

If diff networks, there's a slightly diff step - you need to set your server port with your internet provider. Check this article out here and we can test this if you want after class next week.

Thank you for a great session!  I like how you started from the very beginning and how you walking the group through this.  Although I have some Minecraft: Education Edition experience, I look forward to learning more and learning from others.

    1. What was you biggest takeaway today?

The energy and excitement in educators for teaching and Minecraft. It is so easy right now to get bogged down in all the things, but the session was a reminder that we can choose our mindset and I left energized by all the positive vibes of the people in the session.

    2. What questions do you have?

I would love to see examples or a board of ideas of actual teachers using Minecraft like a Wakelet.

Additionally, I would love to find ways to interview educators using Minecraft for my podcast to ensure these stories are being shared to inspire others.

Appreciate the information! The biggest takeaway was seeing the excitement of the community as they take on this endeavor over the next few weeks! Minecraft is such an amazing edition to the classroom. Student engagement is taken to a different level and allows students to shine in different areas. And what a great tool for collaborative, real-world problem solving! Thank you for this opportunity!

My biggest take away was the reminder of game-based learning and gamification. Minecraft in the classroom is something I use with my Engineering classes. The students enjoy the collaboration and application of the engineering process while "playing" minecraft. I have noticed lately that they are building a great team together- the collaboration is coming together.

    1. I was surprised at the huge range and variety of possibilities in lessons - every subject area and almost every concept can find a home in the Minecraft worlds.

    2. What questions do you have? None yet!

1 -gamefication has been a process of adaptation, because it is complicated to adapt the entire curriculum in games. But with each update, things are evolving.

2- The question of connections still gets in the way, can it be improved?
