Great news - we will be releasing the GOAT beta in the next week, including the Nether update (1.16), Caves and Cliffs (1.17), updated Structure block functionality and more!  For information about the release check out this article: https://aka.ms/MEEBeta

I Agree that the save and load structure blocks definitely need to be functional for Education Edition!  So many group student projects that could be built and saved as a structure file to be imported into the group final project

    Hi Erik Leitner!

Thanks for pointing this out.  Historically, Save and Load options were removed from M:EE as they would refer the user to the experimental gameplay toggle, which only exists in Bedrock.  However Bedrock has made many structure block features from experimental to full support in their R16 release.  We hope to start integrating many of these updates in our next release, however don't have a timeframe to share yet.

Please implement these features into MCEE asap. They are important tools for students to use.

  • This was several months ago, can I get an estimate on when this will be added?

FYI, you can actually "get" these blocks by using /give @a structure_block 1 [put a number between 1-3 here]

You will see a structure block with a different design in your inventory/hand. When you place it down, it will quickly revert to the 3D export block.

  • Too late, schools are in their last two weeks.  When surveyed, I wont be recommending my district to extend its license.

I was wondering the same thing, I copied my structure and went to paste it and couldn't figure out how, so i went to how to play. It said it was there but it was not.

Posting here so it hopefully gets more attention; being able to load our saves would be so beneficial in creating student worlds for my Minecraft Club as well as my summer school Minecraft class.  My hope is that this feature gets added soon. Thank you!

Yohan Adi Setiawan I've heard that the updated structure blocks will be in the next full release (as in people using the Beta release have access to it now while they work out the bugs and in the next couple of months we should see the full release of 1.17 the GOAT release for Education Edition.)

Khadeeja Aljahoori What exactly do you mean "carry minecraft education"?

You can have it installed on as many devices as you have but you still need a license in order to use it.

The updated structure blocks are indeed in the beta.  I have been testing a lot and am extremely happy to see them fully fleshed out.

In order to use the structure block, you have to have commands enabled and have operator status to /give @s structure_block.

You can use a structure block to save a structure into memory to then place that structure into another location in the same world.

You can use a structure block to save a structure to disk (as in export it as a .mcstructure file) and then you can use a behavior pack to place all your .mcstructure files in a structures folder.  From there you can use structure blocks and the files to place your structures into other worlds.

Or I believe you can still use structure blocks to export 3d images for 3d printing but I don't have any experience doing that myself.
