  • Mauro Balsano

    Hello there!

I'm Mauro Balsano, I'm fifty and write from Rome - Italy.

I started use Minecraft since 8 years ago looking for something of smart to involve my daughter instead of mobile games and others.

Today she is thirteen years old, and the roles have turned upside down.
Now, during the latter year, she is the one who taught me and gave me tips and tricks, like to start whit her to use Minecraft: Education Edition too.

Every advice and device he gave me, I reuse it for teacher training.

I have to be honest: my daughter is a great teacher...

    Hi everyone,

My name is Ryan Magill, I am a teacher in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. I have taught grade 6 for the last five years but haven't heard what I will have for the upcoming year. I have been using Minecraft Education Edition in my classroom for the last five years. I absolutely love it and try to weave it into my teaching whenever I can. I am a Global Minecraft Mentor and have really enjoyed being part of that community. I love sharing my ideas and collaborating with other educators in Canada and around the world. Being part of the community has been extremely rewarding for learning new ways to implement Minecraft EE and continue to grow as an educator. I'm on twitter, you can follow me to check out some of my classroom projects (@mrmagill1).

Thanks for your reply Minecraft EDU Team. We have been supporting the teams and their teachers via Microsoft Teams. This created a great community for us to communicate important messages and provide support. So I would have to say having a platform like this made scaling this project possible.

I'm more than happy to look into something like a live event. Feel free to contact me at nathan.richards@bne.catholic.edu.au. I have to say that I am very excited to see what the students submit.

  • Fiona Morrison

Hello! My name is Fi Morrison, I’m a Year 1 teacher and Digital Literacy Coach in Sydney, Australia.
I’ve been using Minecraft in my classrooms since 2015. I have used it for redesigning buildings (Science), multiplication (maths), building an Australian environment (geography) and building character’s houses from literacy texts - like Dr Seuss’ house (English)!
In 2016 I was lucky enough to present at a conference in Sydney about using Minecraft for promoting engagement within classrooms. I love Minecraft as an engaging and meaningful tool for students to explore and demonstrate their learning!

Hi all, I am Richard from the Netherlands and i work at IT Randsteden. We help teachers to use (new) technology in the classroom and Minecraft is for sure one of my favorites. I love the WOW moment when a teacher realizes what he can do with Minecraft Education and how much it inspires students. If you are a science teacher that use Minecraft for sure you know me (I'm the author of the eukaryotic cells world in the library). I think Minecraft has a lot of posibilities in the classroom to create meaningful learning experiences and encourage kids to socialize and think outside the box.

The feature I love the most in game is the Agent, there are so many thing we can do with him... I hope this community keep growing and become a place for all to learn.

  • Xiang Xinyi

Hi! My name is Xinyi Xiang, I have been playing Minecraft education edition before the pandemic outbreak, now when things all turned virtual, the development tutorial sessions my friends and i have been instructing at Seattle, WA to college students adopted Minecraft education edition. We felt like it was a great opportunity to establish a great sense of coding, logical operations and commands. Yesterday we went on a long trip and walked to the mansion, it was great connecting with everyone in the wonderful virtual world Minecraft has created for us and we are planning to continue using MC Edu Edition in our community outreach programs for younger ones. My number one tip for training new teachers on the district level: FIND THE ADVOCATES!

If you are in a medium to large district, it is statistically impossible that you don't already have a few teachers who play Minecraft, or at the very least those that have used game based learning in their classrooms.  Buy-in is where the magic starts and nothing creates buy-in like teachers who are already making the magic happen.
