Code Connection with W10/PE
I just discovered MakeCode website (so wonderful!) and the Code Connection application that works with the Window 10 version of Minecraft. My kids love minecraft, and I think it would be a great learning tool.
The problem is, we have only 1 Windows machine (mine) and I sometimes like to use it, while my kids use our secondary machine. The mac (not my fav.) The Code Connection app though will install on a mac, but there isn't a version of Minecraft PE for Mac. Only the Education Edition, available only to schools. Anyway - I thought perhaps if they could use that on the mac, and Minecraft PE on the ipad, they could be off to the races. Nope. So while I can get my windows 10 minecraft app to talk to mac code connect/ion, I cannot get ipad to talk to mac or PC. It connects (so not //firewall) then immediately disconnects. Code Connector blips, but then back again to IP screen. Not surprised, however....
Is this a limitation of the PE version on ipad that it can't communicate with code connection app and it's explicity kicked off?
If this is by design - can someone answer if there will one day be a PE version for mac that will work with code connection? Or if other mobile/etc PE versions will one day connect to code connection running on computers?
Also - great work, but please continue to make these tools available to the non school user. A lot of learning happens outside of school. And also sometimes the schools don't have resources (teachers or $$) for the tech.

Hi there,
Thanks for the feedback about Code Connection and Pocket Edition - while we aren't ready to announce any future platforms Code Connection may become available on in the future (or compatibility with other editions of Minecraft), we do appreciate this input and look forward to hearing about their code creations in Windows 10.0 -
That's fair. I appreciate that you took time to respond.
I too am looking forward to seeing what they create. :-)0 -
Same situation, including the unwanted mac. Two years and still missing this feature, or if it's available (Minecraft on Ipad do recognize the /connect command, there are no clear instructions on how to connect since there is no equivalent app as "code connection" for ipad.
