MakeCode without Edu Edition?
Does the use of Code Connection and MakeCode require the education edition of Minecraft? I tried using Code Connection with a normal version of Minecraft on OS X and it didn't recognize "/connect" in the chat bar.
It would be great if this doesn't require the education edition for those of us who can't get Office 365 for one reason or another.

Hi Tom,
Code Connection is available for all versions of Minecraft: Education Edition, and the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft only. You can experience the agent via Code.org here: https://code.org/minecraft
Thank you for your question.-1 -
Please see https://minecraft.makecode.com/setup for instructions on working with MakeCode with the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft. -1 -
Is it possible to use Code Connection with the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft without an internet connection? It works fine if I'm online. However, if I'm offline, code connection tells me to enter this command /connect 0.0.0.0:19131 to connect. Minecraft can't connect to that URI.
Out of curiosity, I tried entering /connect 127.0.0.1:19131 and that connection succeeded. Code connection refreshed to the screen that allowed me to select MakeCode. However, the code I build in MakeCode is not running in the game at all. It seems there's still some kind of communication problem between MakeCode and Minecraft.0 -
